Balete

The Kapayabay Festival is celebrated in Balete, Batangas every May 1. The term Kapayabay is said to combine “Kapayapaan” (peace) and “Paglalakbay” (journey or pilgrimage), symbolizing the town’s devotion to both faith and travel, especially in honor of its patroness, Nuestra Señora de la Paz y Buen Viaje or Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage. The festival highlights Balete’s spiritual heritage and reflects its identity as a town known for calmness, faith, and reflection.
