Tumba Festival
The Tumba Festival of San Luis, Batangas is a unique local celebration held every November 1, coinciding with All Saints’ Day. Known as the “Candle Festival”, it is deeply rooted in the town’s tradition of honoring the departed through prayer, light, and remembrance. The name “tumba,” which refers to the piles or displays of candles, reflects the festival’s central theme—offering light for the souls of loved ones who have passed away. Over time, this observance has grown from a solemn community practice into a symbol of faith and cultural identity for the people of San Luis.
